The high-end mid-80s pushbutton Becker Grand-Prix is not highly regarded by many. I recently found one in similar shape for $10 at a local thrift-store. Personally, I prefer the Becker Europa from this period. I have a four-band Europa cassette unit from a grey-market W126 in the Pick-N-Pull that may wind up in my Euro 5-peed 300TD.

not 100% sure but i think panda's post might be humor at work, as this radio looks pretty "vintage" indeed (and not working, too...i mean the radio not the humor)

I guess these days, mid-80s is considered 'vintage'.
While the PO-installed Blaupunkt CD-radio in my '84 TD works OK (It's the first car I've bought that had a working CD player) it has some irritating quirks.
The volume resets everytime I turn it off, and I hate having to scroll through a menu everytime I want to adjust the other audio settings. If I replace it with a vintage Becker, It will be one of the rotary-knob, mechanical-tuning Europas.

Happy Motoring, Mark

Nope. Haven't been trying real hard. Been too busy with other stuff, including working on a rental property, my fleet of diesels, and a friend's '72 220.
My Finny is still availible. I did have someone briefly interested in my spare 220S engine, but that didn't pan out either.

Happy Motoring, Mark

That radio was quite a prize - If the economy had been even a little better, there would have been a buying frenzy.

As a reminder, here is a handy chart translating private party eBay "described" condition vs. "actual" condition:

Perfect = not perfect
Mint = Fairly good, you might use it, worth keeping as a spare
Very good = barely usable as a spare if you get hit or yours breaks
good = maybe repairable/refinishable, probably junk
fair = junk

Additional descriptions for chrome:
Mint = slightly pitted
Slightly pitted = very pitted
Needs refinishing = beyond refinishing
Slight peeling = you will cut yourself while handling it
