FS: 1980 380SE parts --- Surprise Inside !!!

It was weird sticking my head into this car and seeing this:

that looks weird. I've never seen this kind of manual heat control; what kind of car is this? So I go and look at the tags on the car and see these.

No surprises really; sometimes the junkyard gets it wrong, so I go to look at the manufactures tag on the driver's door frame. Huh? There's nothing there. Then I look up and see this:

OH! It's a Euro. I had already battled SLS on the 300TE (see other thread) and was sort of tired.

Who wants what? Glove box door is neat with the German Mercedes help number; fuel filler door in German; I grabbed the blue very good sun visors come with clips; the rear deck shelf is in good condition; the under dash covers are in good condition.

And I grabbed the manual heat controls.

Even ran the VIN number at the Russian site --- see below.

Guess I'll have to go back and look for the fire extinguisher --- were there special mounting brackets?

I found the same type of climate control of a 1985 Euro 380se. Was going to get it but by the time I got back there, somebody laterally ripped it out, left it hangin and took the dials.

Good find. I wonder if you need to take the whole climate box if you want to do a conversion.

The Euro Manual(really automatic, dual zone) controls will not change to the Automatic type controls without changing everything out down to the firewall. controls are completely different and not worth the bother to try to changes. The lights on the 126 are US lights and were changed during federalization of the car(the VIN sticker(white one) is the Federalization sticker.
The Fire extinguisher would have been mounted to the front driver's seat. Probably ditched when federalized as the German fire extinguishers are not DOT legal in the US. Same with the warning triangle in the rear boot.

Yeah, I knew the lights had been changed and I suspected the entire ventilation to the firewall would need to be changed if someone wanted to "convert". Some guys really hate the ACC setup, so if someone wants to go down the conversion road, I'll be happy to pull the rest of the parts.

Thumbs up

VERY early W126, I have one too. Mine has major rust and is probably going to the graveyard in the sky unless I can do some major repair.

Will post detailed pics of these 2 items later tonight.

Sun Visors with clips; Blue Euro type. Make me a decent offer.
Climate Control with wood panel and all switches as shown. Make me a decent offer.

Coda needs your help; these parts are distracting me from her.

Please note the dual zone Euro climate control; you get everything pictured. The temperature dials are very crisp with just a little cracking on MAX on the left dial. IF you want the entire unit out of the dash, arrangements can be made. Please shoot me an email or PM.

Grab the headlight switch bezel with the level adjust dial. Someone will want that eventually! I always grab them when I see them...
