It's a shame those are the Version 1's I've been looking for.

The Pentas are sold to Jim B. I'm happy their going on a Mercedes that's photographed more than mine. Now I can start shopping for a 603.

AFAIK, the 16" will fit Gen I and Gen II i26's. it's the 14" Gen I wheels that will not fit the Gen II cars because of the larger brake calipers (thickness and maybe the dia. too.) 15 " wheels from Gen II will swap with Gen I with no problems.

Great snag Jim B!!! I COVET those wheels

I'm happy too.....For Jim B and maybe for me too.....if the our end of this deal goes as planned.

I'll keep you informed.

That's true, but my SL AMG came with the V1 wheels (deeper dish style), so that's what I want to replace my Aeros. Someday.

I've been meaning to post this as well, and since its related....

My friend Bob has a 500se that was tuned by AMG. Body kit, staggered Pentas (16x8 in front and 16x9 in rear), and exhaust. May be more, but that's all I know.

This was a while ago, not my long gone W124 in the background. He is letting this thing sit outside and rot. I told him he should be flogged if he does it over another winter.

Oh no he's not selling it. Its just shocking that a chapter president of MBCA would allow this to happen to a car he bought in near pristine condition.

I'm imagining how beautiful that car must have looked with it's gleaming paint...

Wow.

I say firing quad at 20 paces. Mine have to set out, but the Blue Bird is going under cover this week i hope. but if you have cover and let one set out that is as you say.
People would kill(or at least pay good money) for that car.

I don't understand how you can be a chapter president and let a good one just die in your backyard.

No, I guess not. These selling for full price (I assume) $1,200 plus $200 shipping within 2 weeks of them being advertised shows me that the economy is not as bad an people claim.

Chances to buy nice Pentas don't pop up often. If you do a search on this forum only about 5 listings have popped up in the last 4 years or so, with a lot more WTB Penta threads. I thought these were priced reasonably enough that if someone was really wanting them, they would buy it. They are going to be the cherry on top with Jim's car, that's for sure.

If you have to knock in the bearing cap to make them fit, then they werent designed for that model, even though they may fit almost. I've only seen those flat face pentas on 124 and 190's so chances are thats what they were originally on.

Also Gen1 126 pentas dont quite fit on Gen2 cars either, the front calipers will knock the inside of the spokes. either the calipers will need to be shaved or the wheels notched.
