WTB: 1982 240D 4-spd shift lever (or knob)
I need a shift lever for a 1982 240D. The knob on my car is split almost in two. I would take the knob only if it comes off by itself. I know the shift lever (the part that comes out of the console) unscrews out. Thanks.
Kurt

Knobs definitely come off by themselves. I think I might have one. From a 79, AFAIK they are all the same.
Here's a link for a brand new one. http://catalog.peachparts.com/ShopByVehicle.epc?q=1982-Mercedes--Benz---40d-Transmission&yearid=1982%40%401982&makeid=63%40%40MERCEDES+BENZ%40%40X&modelid=6142%3AMBC|1489%3AED| 10000129%40%40240D&catid=241185%40%40Transmission&subcatid=241231@@Shift+Knob&mode=PA

Automatics are not removable, I don't think. I have some complete lever assemblies from stick conversions if that's what you need.
