CD changer & full encasement - '91 300E 4matic

Inlaws removed it to fit more golf clubs, never used it. PO (orig owner) likely never did either (older woman).

Includes all mounting bracketry, hardware, cartridge, and full carpeted encasement.

$75+shipping - HTH someone.

Is that unit an Alpine or Silverstone?
Could you post the model number and a photo of the rear of the unit would be nice. Thanks.

Don't have it in front of me today, but sure - I'll try and grab it from the inlaws tonight and post pics/detail.

Any wiring included? (like the gray cable that goes between the tuner and the changer)

Wiring? I simply disconnected the changer and removed it from the car last week - so - any wiring is still in the car and no longer necessary.

If it's there and you need it - it is included. Like I said everything will be included (even the mounting threads that poke up into the body), as my inlaws barely listen to the radio even and want their trunk space.

I will see what is there and report back to you here - may be a day or 2 b/c the car resides @ their house.

HTH.

btw - cool SD... always dug those.

Well, if that changer is configured like it was in my car the radio won't work at all if you just unplug it, the changer sits between the head unit and the tuner. There should be this "extension" cable hooked up to the changer, with power and two 8 pin grey cables. One of those hooks up to the end of the grey cable coming from the headunit, which can be unplugged and plugged right into the tuner.

If the changer includes the cables I'll take it

Sorry didn't realize that - I just unplugged it. The wires go back into the lower C pillar area and into one of two silver 'boxes', ~ 4"x4"x1" mounted in tandem. It's all still in there.

I'll try and swing thru there in the coming days, hopefully grab whatever you need (LMK on anythinge else), and report back. With any luck I'll be boxing it up for you by the weekend.

Great to see this helping someone out rather than just tossed aside and forgotten about.

Thanks.

Damn you beat me to it. I've always wanted a stock CD Changer for my car so I could ditch this radio frequency unit that I have right now.

cool SDL Fulcrum, great color

CT huh?

<<<dammit>>>

not to commit an Internet Party Foul Faux Pas - I'd never normally conduct this way

but

I'd prob defer the sale to you if it saved me packaging, transport, and shipping time / expense. I barely have time to get to 'this' stuff these daze - ugh - life happens.

As much as I'm a toolbox for saying 'this'...

It'd be yours if you came and shag'd it.

Sorry Jason - no offense hope you understand (I could have PM'd all this but figured I'm man enough to admit why publicly).

I work in Windsor / reside near UCONN. Pick a time / place to meet and it's yours. LMK.

Hmm, no idea you lived in CT. Well take some pictures of the unit so that I can ensure that its the same unit that came in the S-Class of the same year.

My one worry is how that unit is wired to the back of the radio (IE how the **** am I going to run that wire without having to take half the car apart)

Pigtail hanging??

I know that the 1991 models had a pretty unique sound system to the W126 chassis that was later used in the W140s (4 channel)

I'm right smack in the middle of the state but thankfully south of the unpleasant crater known as Hartford.

Yes and I'll be in Glastonbury sometime this afternoon. I'll look around on the forum and I know one or two people who are pros with these audio systems. Do you have the part number on the changer? That would be the best place to start from on this little project.
