NEED GOOD 602 HEAD for '92 300D 2.5
I still need a good head for a 92 W124 300D 2.5. I've searched some sites and have gotten goofy quotes of guaranteed parts from someone that must work a network of salvage operations. They obviously don't know anything about what they are trying to broker and I don't feel comfortable with this kind of arrangement. Any suggestions? The head I'm replacing is beyond heat straightening and machining. Thanks......

Not sure but here goes
I think that your head is from a turbo engine. I have a good head from a non turbo engine , but it might just work. If I remember correctly the basic castings are the same for both. The #s on the side of the head are 602 016 03 01. I picked up a couple of spare engines for my 190D , this is off one of them. It was in a vehicle which was in an accident, the valve cover was cracked but the head doesn't appear to be damaged in any way. The head that is on my vehicle right now is fine so I don't need 2 spares. If you can solicit opinions as to whether this will work get back to me with a PM. If I got $100 plus shipping I would be happy. Not sure where you are, hope this helps. Cheers Dan

Might work, but the turbo and NA heads are different, different castings.
