I've seen them in early-80's S-class coupes (560SEC) and I got one today from a 1987 190E, I think it was. I've never seen one in a W123 that was standard but it could have been an option. You are the original owner of your '83?

i did this upgrade recently, and actually USED the map light! it's a nice little touch/upgrade, IMO. great price too.

aesthetics are important too!

I have one in my 300SD....I snagged it out of a 1988 190e at the junk yard. My wife likes it because she can read while I am driving at night and the light doesn't bug me.

I paid..... $1. Yep.
