FS: Trailer Hitch from a 1985 300SD
 

Hi Guys.

EDIT 07/17/2009 --- Price dropped to $80 plus shipping.

I picked this up today from a guy who has been Mercedes diesels for quite some time. He said he had it made for his 1985 300SD --- he got rid of the car and this has been sitting in his garage ever since. If I clean it off and give in a fresh coat of black spray paint, I have to charge you more. I'm more interested in it going to someone who needs it and can use it.

Anyone want to make me an offer. It comes with everything you see in the pics. I'll be happy to make measurements.

He told me it was built to be a Class 2 hitch. It has some slight surface rust; a wire brush or wheel and paint would make this look like new. I can ask him what he pulled with it.

Looks to be a Class 3 receiver there. Looks also like it could be beefed up from the flanges near the receiver to the far ends with not too much trouble.
Wonder if it'd fit a 560SEL? with Euro Bumpers. Or I could change back for a tow rig.
Interesting. What does it mount too under the car(small mtg end? Diff Mtg?

Did it ride below the bumper or did he have to cut the bumper fascia?

All I can do is ask the previous owner. I'll be happy to make measurements of the thing for anyone who wants to measure their car.

He's out of town on business. I've been to his house before because he had a 240D for sale about 10months ago.

Price Reduced to $85 plus cheap shipping. With all the other parts requests, I need to move this thing off my garage floor. I don't want to move like 10 times over the next 2 weeks.
