WTB: 300E Flywheel for 5 Speed Manual

Looking for a flywheel. It has to be out of an M103 or M104 engined car otherwise it won't work for me. I need one that has NOT BEEN RECONDITIONED! If you have a flywheel that has been reconditioned, I don't want it. Please respond with a price and picture.

ALSO, if you have anything else for a 5 Speed, let me know. If you're in the Midwest and want to sell a 5 Speed from a M103/M104 let me know! A whole car wouldn't be too bad either.

Please contact me here via PM or by my email: bsmuwk@yahoo.com

Thank you,
Allen

The M102 doesn't have the same flywheel as the M103? -CTH

Nope.

They're the same size, but the reference marks for the crank sensor to the EZL are different. Reference marks from an M103 flywheel can be welded onto the M102 flywheel, but it takes a few times to get right. It WILL work, but with a few modifications. It's not something I would want to play around with though.

Have you checked with the dealer? Price was not too bad for the single mass (the one you want) flywheel, around $300 or so. Personally I welded up a m102 16v flywheel to fit my 3.0 but I really do not recommend doing it unless you know a welder with extreme precision and knows how to do decent silicon bronze welding on iron. Not something to trust the local muffler shop to. Although I did save 15 lbs on the flywheel by doing it which was quite nice.

According to the dealerships around Chicago, the single mass ones aren't available anymore. Tom at the classic center has dual mass ones brand new for around $500. If I can weld a 16v flywheel, then I can manage. My uncles one of the best welders i've ever seen and he should be able to help me out there.

would you by any chance have any pictures/dimensions for that 16v flywheel?

I had mine replaced about 10 years ago. It's sad to think you can't get this today. Wouldn't this part be much more common in Europe...but if you checked with the Classic Center they should certainly know. What about having one machined (not a cheap solution)? Let me know how you fare.

It is common in Europe, but the folks that are offering are unreasonable. I actually got an amazing offer from Tom at the Center for a brand new flywheel, but for me, it's still a bundle. Machining was an option, but the cost.... oh boy. I'll find one eventually.
