I'll pick them up locally if you throw in a complete AMG body kit for free.

not to jack the thread but, what made the AMG set up better than the original? besides having the name AMG stamped on them, and having an original set up, couldn't this be reproduced with current exhaust parts slapped together at a shop? just curious.

um...bump. he's still looking!

It would be a shame to put anything else on 48HP's AMG 107. That is one BEAUTIFUL CAR!

The AMG exhaust is a free flowing system available during the pre-merger AMG era that increased performance and provided a deeper exhaust note. The twin chrome tips with the pre-merger stamping (A M G not ///AMG) is also a bonus.

Yes, similar systems can/have been built as found on my SEC. Yet it would be a shame to mount anything but an AMG exhaust system as originally equipted on my SL.

might get some random hit from google if you change the thread to "Wanted R107 AMG exhaust"

as far as I know the W was never a prefix for a conv. MB

free bump as well

Thanks for the heads up and bump. Yeah I do realize the official designation is R/C 107 but you'd be surprised how often I find the goods listed as W107.

I often do random Google searches and the most common search results are my own ads. lol

Thanks again.

The M117 "euro" exhaust collectors (ie headers) are the real way to get more power out of a M117 when dealing with the exhaust. USA (and others) version are a "log" style which multiple cylinders are collected together. The 450SLC 5.0 has these individual headers. They add about 30 HP. They are chassis specific however- so while all versions will attach to the engine if the engine is removed, they are slightly different and the w126 set will not fit in a 107 and vice versa. The rest of the exhaust can only marginally improved over stock without the individual headers. I've found and sold three sets of these from the yards- one w126 and two r107's. I searched but could not find pics as I only have access to my notebook- not my home computer as I am in the hospital as I type.

Oh so familiar with the M117 US spec vs. Euro Spec exhaust manifolds. Here's 7 pages of my discovery, research, testing and results:

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w126-s-se-sec-sel-sd/1246737-500sec-dual-exhaust.html

Gained 29 horse power with the euro ECE tr-y manifolds and downpipes over the the stock US spec dual log to single exhaust system.
