I _LOVE_ P-A-P !
So ;
After unsucsesfully searching for vintage Cadillac Hearse parts in Ontario Ca. this morning I suggested we drop by the PO-mona self service junkyard as they seem to have scads of clean W-126's (Tom needs this n' that) and I'll get some more walking in as I need the excersize . Imagine my surprise when the _only_ W-123 in the entire yard was a seriously rusty (seriously) 1977 Grey Market NA 300D STICK SHIFT Sedan ~ it still had the front & rear European bumpers on it and LO ! what's this ? an original Mercedes trailer hitch with uber rare weatherproof trailer electrical plug and the un-obtanium adapter harness and plugs that allows the wiring of a trailer without cutting / splicing a single wire ?! . Wow ~ I also found the European owner's booklet plastic sleeve thing with a card of some sort printed in German still in it (I didn't waste time gawping , I was too busy grabbing those bumpers and loosing Tom's tools) I also found the original , pristine European first aid kit that some jerkwad had thoughtfully left OPEN on the trunk just before the heavy rains last night so most of it's contents were floating in clean water.... Tom was jonesing for it badly and I was busy having sex with ~ er , I mean REMOVING the bumpers and trailer hitch , electrical sub harness' etcetera so I gave it to him .(it's different than the U.S. Sepc. ones) There's prolly a lot more to this fun story (I'm glad he didn't have a camera) but you get the drift . Now I can leave the European bumpers on my soon to be sold N/A Diesel Coupe.... that should make someone happy . OBTW : the complete , CORRECT 5 cylinder manual tranny setup is still in this car ~ the flywheel alone is worth $250 + (it's heavier) . I no longer need a stick shift else I'da bought the entire car and stripped at my leisure . U Pick U Save S/W corner of West End and Mission Blvd. in PO-mona , Ca.
