WTB: horn contact, W126
I've asked several members on the board for this item and all have flaked out.
Anyone have the spring loaded copper horn contact that lives in the combination switch and contacts the slipring on the steering wheel so that the horn can work? The copper is delicate and lives in a plastic housing in the combination switch. This is for the '84 SD. TIA |

even me.....just never got around to pulling the steering wheel off of 300SD before it got sold; good thing I guess --- we towed it with my truck the short 1.5 miles to it's new resting ground. The new seller has sold some things off it it and is planning an engine transplant into his pristine 300SD.
Would a w123 have the same contacts?

Hey Brian.
I found a w123 stalk out on the shelf. Here's a pic of the springs. Will this work for you? PM sent.

I've still got mine as well. Had a few delays in getting rid of the car, like family members just up and dieing.

Thanks, but the W-126 is completely different. The copper contact is inside a plastic housing. B.C. |

If I had access, it would be on the house as well.
Thanks BC. |

I'd like to thank Jim Harris for coming thorough with that horn contact.
After a three month wait for many others without the horn, it's a pleasure to finally have it back. |

If you feel like extracting it out of a defective combination switch, I have one off of the 300SD parts car I'm parting out currently.
The switch is off the car, sitting on top of the random electrical bits box currently. Finally getting around to junking this thing, and getting the '82 in for it's engine transplant.. 2 years later!
