Why are there no 107 parts?

I look in this forum all the time, but rarely do I see 107 parts for sale here.

Why is this? Where are all the 107 parts? I use to shop Ebay for used parts, but for the last few years it's almost impossible to get a fair price on anything. Private auctions are almost a thing of the past. Most everything being sold on Ebay now have way overpriced buy-it-now prices. Many times I can buy new for what businesses are asking for 25 year old parts. It's almost to the point of Ebay being worthless to even search.

From: http://northernresource.com/mercedes/107-production.htm

Total SL production: 237,287
Total SLC production: 62,888

Compared to: 2,583,470 W124 model cars produced

It may just be that these parts are starting to dry up... last year of production is 1989, so a nearly 20 year old (from the LAST model produced) car with only about ~250,000 examples left on the road might mean that parts are going to be hard to get unless you buy new from the dealership, etc. :(

1. I have seen a ton of 107 cars and parts on various Craig's list locations. Some start high but after a month they are normal.
2. Some still believe that a piece of cow manure with a three pointed star on it is worth $10,000,000 "because it's Mercedes cow manure." Well, that approach doesn't work in a lot of areas, and some people have just not yet wised up.
3. Others still don't believe that we are in a recession or they believe they'll find the sucker of their dreams.
4. Some are just trying to bail after making a costly mistake.
5. Some people never learn that or they refuse to admit they ever made an unwise purchase.

You have to be in it for the love of the cars, not to sell them like pieces of processed cheese. In the meantime, let people know what you need, that seems to be the best way to find things-- in many cases.

I'm having my "going out of business" sale right now on the 560SL parts I have left.

Trunk Battery Box

What are you asking for the Trunk Battery Box?

at least your car had a production number in the 200,000's.. the w124 cabrio didn't even touch 10k.. Finding used, good condition cabrio specific parts is hard

450sl cars are for the wine and cheese set-There aren't any of those people on MSF, They just trade them in when the ashtray is full and have SL500 delivered, and then do some yachting with a pastel sweater tied around the neckhttp://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/...ons/icon12.gif

Yes, need one of these off 77-80 450SL/SLC. Attaches from chain tensioner to hose on top of the air cleaner. Almost had one a couple months ago but turned out rusted.
