ECM for a 1989 Mercedes 500 SEL Euro (Please Help)
I have several questions:
· What is the port on the upper right-hand corner used for? · Is it a required hook-up? · I noticed the hook-ups for the eight peg plugs, crank sensor, and vacuum hose. · Does anyone have model that can replace it? · Can I replace it with one that does not have a port on the upper left hand corner, but does have the eight peg plugs? Part Numbers Bosch Number: 0227-400-706 Mercedes Number: 007-545-07-32 (02) Thanks, Ron Brown (Richmond, VA) Link with the picture: ECM for a 1989 Mercedes 500 SEL Euro (Please Help)

Hi, that is usually not referred to as an ECM. Moreso, an "EZL" or an Ignition module. All connections are required, if you want to drive the car. You must replace it with an EZL with all the same connectors, the part number can be different, but the connectors must be the same. Good luck with the search.
