WTB - good fuel gauge sending unit for W126

Are they all the same from 81-91 on the W126?

I need a GOOD working one for my moms 88 300SEL. Thanks in advance.

Thank you... sent you a PM back.. or email. Not sure if it went through or not. Some guy said he had one for $35 w/shipping, but I dont know if it works good or not. I prefer to buy one that works properly. Someone else said its probably the instrument cluster and not the sending unit. What do you think? Thanks again

Clean It?

Have you ever had it out and cleaned the sliding unit and the wires? It is more likely to be your sliding unit than your gauge. I would start with your unit and if the wires are intact I would clean it because the sliding unit is probably stuck. If the sliding unit is stuck just slide it up or down and put it back together and plug it in without putting it back in the tank. You can then look at your fuel gauge and if it has changed you know where the problem is.. Jim
