I have an 83 240D engine only for sale. Flywheel is not included, but I could furnish a flex plate if you need it. Engine was overhauled 7500 miles ago by Nathan Carter, (Forum member), in 1999. It has new pistons and liners, all new bearings and oil pump. I think the big washer in the vacuum pump broke, and a piece of that washer got jammed between the idler sprocket and the chain, causing the chain to break, oil pump chain is also broke and it broke the cam shaft and the center cam tower. The big chain rails in the lower block probably will need re[placing also. Block, pistons, liners, head and valves all check out and look very good. It needs a little reassembly, I have a new head gasket, VC gasket, and the lower pan and sump pan will have to be put on. I have found and will furnish an excellent vacuum pump and gasket. The head is very good and I have a used head with camshaft complete. So you can have two heads, but only one camshaft setup. Includes oil cooler with good hoses attached. I am wrapping it up in heavy plastic. I would prefer you to pick it up, but it could be shipped. Will sell for $100.00 you pickup, or $250.00 plus shipping if it has to be shipped. I stated that the oil pump chain was involved but that is incorrect as the 240D does not use a separate chain for the pump.
