W123 European headlight adjustment switch + panel + checkvalve
I have a good (vacuum tested) used European headlight adjustment switch and trim piece that will fit all W123 models. This allows you to adjust the height of the headlight reflectors to compensate for loads in the rear seat or trunk, or if you want to move the headlamps higher / lower to suit the road conditions.
The switch panel was from a bare-bones vehicle and includes four removable "block off" plates. The switch openings are the standard size for W123 upper console switches and your existing rear defrost, antenna, sunroof, and rear domelight switches will pop right in. Also included is the check valve and a few inches of purple vacuum line. An installation diagram is in the ShopForum archives. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll find one for you. $25 includes shipping anywhere in the US. |

Is the switch supposed to hold vacuum?

It should. Didn't you install one in your 300d?

Two switches I have regulate vacuum, depending on the switch position. It does not hold much vacuum when it's set to 0, but releases vacuum gradually when in 3.
My thinking is that it allows the vacuum to pass through faster when it's at 0, meaning the car does NOT need the vacuum pods in the lights, so the lights remain level. When you turn it to 3, then the lights go down, and vacuum is released gradually, instead of holding it. The 3-way valve will allow the vacuum input to go to both headlights. At least that's how I understood how it works. I did install one to mine but never got it to work. Manually, it did, with the MityVac plumbed straight to the lights.

I have one of the 5-opening plastic gizmos also and it has two of the knock-out blanks. This means that if we put my two knock-outs in the two openings in yours, effectively giving you no room for any switches, we could make the most bare-bones 123 in the world.

I have a Euro 240. I need a blockoff for the AC dial. The car did not come with AC but the blockoff has been removed. It is a slightly different size. Does your panel have it? Thanks.
