Do you have a good air cleaner bracket? I welded mine but it's ugly.

I have a 1980 300TD (wagon) with probably a hole in a piston. I'd love to pop a turbo engine in there, but I'm not sure how to make the SLS work if your engine is from a sedan. Can the SLS pump from my current engine be added on somehow? Or could I just put the block itself in? Is that a lot more labor than a complete engine swap? Ideas?...
What's the mileage on your engine? Burn any oil?
Thanks!
Christian

You have to have a wagon head. They have the special hole for the SLS pump. Everything else is the same. Block, turbo, etc.

I suppose that I can keep the head that I have. Mine's a non turbo. Does the extra pressure from the turbo affect the head in any way?

The exhaust valves are different (to handle more heat) and the cam is different (for more efficiency).
