Many of you might remember when this vehicle was for sale as a "car". Well after a failed ebay attempt and some other snafu's, this fella has turned into a parts car. (Before I try the ebay thing again)..I know that quite a few members have 280's with 4.5's to boot,..sooo, if you need any parts or spare parts, tell me of your needs, and I will see if they can be met.
As always, thank you for your time! -Larry |

I have a 1970 280sel and I am looking for the piece of wood that goes on top of the dash along the windshield. If you have one in good shape I would be interested.
Thanks, Andie |

Andie,
Unfortunately the wood is kindling, or so I am told...didn't look at it myself. "It may be of interest to note that the rear differential on this car has a 3:27 ratio for those who may be interested in changing their 113 chassis [230-280SL's} to this ratio. The 4.5 is the ONLY rear that has that ratio in the old swing axle and many are looking for this change-over. It also lets 230sl owners upgrade to rear disc brakes at the same time." The rear end information was kindly passed on to me by a fellow member. (thanks!) -Larry |

I am looking for the knurled knob that holds the speedometer and other gauges in position. It is the one that is immpossible to access and most folks leave them off afterwards. Please email me if you have it and I will be glad to purchase it. thanks ------------------ Frank Last edited by FrankM; 12-27-2007 at 05:10 PM. |

Hi....I have a '72 model and have been loosing some functions. One of the latest is the fuel guage. I have no idea if it is the sending unit or the guage itself, but I now have to fillup based on the tripometer. Would also VERY much like the female part to the drivers seat belt and the front dome light is making poor contact. I might want to ask about a bunch of stuff, but would like to start here. One more question...what are your rear quarters like?

I am sorry to be gatting back so late to your responses. The car went on ebay again, and got an acceptable bid. It hasn't been picked up yet, but the check did arrive, so I wouldn't feel right about taking parts from it. (Btw, I was putting this car up on ebay for a benz fan friend of mine, I asked him about the parts in question, and he said that he will look around his place and see what he has. He also owns a W109 {reeeaaaallly nice!!!!) so he ought to have some experience, and hopefully some parts sitting around too!)
Thanks for your inquiry! -Larry |

Larry,
I'm trying to locate a front stabilizer bar for the 108. I have a possible line on one here in So. Cal., but haven't heard for sure yet. Should know in the next couple of days. ------------------ Mike Tangas 73 280 SEL 4.5 |
