Yes, it works. It came off of a 1971-4.5 108 .... jim

I didn't know they made a 4.5 in '71....I thought it was just '72 and '73.

Title
I will check the tittle. I have 35 cars and some going and coming all the time. I have Three 108's and just sent 2 others to the crusher. One of those was the 450 and I pulled everything I could from the car. But the previous owner had pulled the engine, transmission, drive train and was going to put a 350 Chevie small block with a 700 transmission in it. I take the stripped cars to a crusher about 30 miles away in KY and I usually keep the title ao I will check and see what year. You are right, it is a 72 ID # 10806712002720 jim

I sent the money via paypal on Sunday, and haven't heard back from you yet.
Have you shipped the fan yet? |
108 Aux. Fan
Your fan will be shipped tomorrow and I will get you a tracking number... thank you for your purchase. It takes PayPal 2-4 Workdays to send your money to my bank. So consequently I wait until I receive the money before shipping. Your blower was retested today and boxed up for shipping. Good luck Jim

I got the fan after labor day weekend, and didn't get around to opening up the box to install the fan until today.
I pulled the fan out and discovered that the wiring had been cut, and it was missing the two prong connector. Did you cut it off or even realize that it was missing the plug on the end? I made a quick trip to the hardware store and bought a soldering kit and soldered on the plug from the old fan. I confirmed that the fan works, but it quickly tripped the fuse. I installed the one red fuse (16 amp) that I had, and it tripped that one, too. I only have white fuses left (8 amp), and it eventually tripped that one as well. I am going to buy new fuses tomorrow, and also the next size up. I guess the blue fuses (25 amp) are the next size up. If it blows another 16 amp fuse, I am going to try the blue one. It that blows, I don't think this fan is any good. |
Tested
We just ran the fan direct by jumping from a battery and it ran as expected but my helper just told me that he clipped the wires because it had something in the wiring that was factory and the object was wired to more than just the plug. I don't know what it was. I need to find a wiring schmatic to check. I remember that it didn't have a plug and we jumped it direct from a battery. Jim

I replaced the red fuse last night, and the fan ran without tripping the fuse so it might be fine.
I don't really know if it'll trip the fuse again as I only ran it enough to get the fan to come one. I don't know how the car was wired before you shipped it, but someone had messed with it. Both my original auxiliary fan and the one from the 450SEL have a simple wire with a two prong plug on the end of it, and nothing else. I don't know what else it could have been plugged into. |
Problem
If you have any more problems with the fan just let me know and I will do what ever you want for your satisfaction... Jim
