Can you read the fine print on the speedo currently installed? At the bottom is a part number.

Common problem for the trip meter/odometer to fail. Unless you know you are getting one that has been repaired, then you can expect the same thing to happen with another used one. Why not fix yours - cheap, easy fix.

I took mine apart last weekend and couldn't find anything wrong with it. Out of the car, it worked, in the car, nope. I looked and couldn't find any stripped gears, or gears slipping on their axle.
