Wow, sorry to hear about your misfortune. Are you ok? It must have been quite an impact....

Would it be possible to see a pic or two?

Does the motor start and run enough to move the car under its own power (that is, onto a truck)?

Send them directly to smwychwood@gmail.com if it's easier than trying to post online....

Thanks

Steve

Thanks for asking Steve. I'm ok and walked away with a sore hand, broke toe, and a lil sore. With that Impact (65mph to 0) I WILL be singing Mercedes praises for the rest of my days!! Glad I was not in the Beetle TDI or I fear I would not be here to tell this story! As soon as i find another w123 I'm gonna sell the TDI! I miss my Tank of a car!!!

The car was still running after the impact. I have not tried it since due to the radiator damage. I hope to open the hood and pull/cut the front out a lil to see what is damaged, but not sure when i will get to that.

I emailed you the pic Steve.

Are you interested in parting it out yet?

daw_two 03-02-2011 03:42 PM

Colin --- why don't you just buy a trailer & winch; buy Mark's whole car; keep it on the trailer; take the front doors off of it for you......
part the rest out....

then sell the carcass at the scrapyard.

Do you have a place to park a trailer for a couple of months?

colincoon 03-02-2011 11:31 PM

^I thought about that, and I think that my HOA would throw a fit. I guess I technically have a place to put it, but it wouldn't be great to have it there for a part out.

Mark if you decide that you would like to part it out let me know and I will be there! I have a laundry list of things that I need.
