FS: "early" W124 steering wheel + 95 S124 trunk amp

Steering wheel is marked "87 260E". Got it thinking I'd be able to use it in my '95 E320, but the clock spring section isn't the same & I had no luck transfering the guts across from one wheel to the other. Leather isn't perfect, but is MUCH nicer than in my car. . .plenty of pix available on request. $60 shipped.

This is the style of wheel for sale, but not my picture:

Also have a trunk amp for a '95 E320 wagon. Was working on getting the stock system up & running & thought I needed an amp. Turns out my stock amp was fine. . .d'oh! $50 shipped.

That's the later wheel for W124 cars.
Works on 93-95 cars, but beware...

The 93 wheel is different than the 94-95 wheel, though they are visually identical. The metal mounting hub has a different hole configuration on the early wheels vice the 94-95.

You can do some machine work on the hub and swap over the clockspring to get them to interchange, but it's not a plug and play.

Jim, thanks for clearing that up. This must be from the '93 then. The mounting hub/clock spring is the difference I was trying to describe. I thought I'd make the necessary modifications & swap mine over, but thought better of it once I had both wheels on the bench. . . this one has the solid horn contact ring, NOT the pass-thru for the short harness like on my '95.

Can you send some closer pictures at: mitak_gb at yahoo dot ca
want to see how bad the leather is, need it for my '92 G300 or my '88 G230, both without airbags.

Pix are no sweat. Just to be clear, this *IS* an airbag steering wheel, but the airbag isn't included. . . I'll snap some pix & post them here AND send them to your e-mail a bit later tonight.

Just to clear this up.

This wheel was used on all 92-93 124 E class except the 500E.

It can be fitted to any 86-93 124 model.

I have one installed on an '87 diesel wagon.

Isn't the clockspring (contact ring) different on the earlier wheels?

Sorry to take longer-than-promised to snag pix. Tried to show the condition best I could - as you can see, its not a new wheel, but its MUCH nicer than the one in my wagon. . .

I have that same steering wheel in my 91 300E. It came from a 91 300CE. Swapped right over with no issues.

Now I also pulled the same style wheel from a 1992 300E 4Matic. The 4Matic wheel did not seat properly in my non 4-MT car, and rubbed very badly on the steering column.
