W124 Sachs rear strut mount

This could be a dealer only item because it isn't available aftermarket as far as I can find. It would be great to identify a generic type replacement as there is for the 500SEL. Here's the critical pieces of the mount that could be comprised in a kit along with the hardware:
5d: lower rubber mount
5c: upper rubber mount
5i: plate

All of those pieces are typically included in the hardware baggie with the new shock?

You would think so but with these type struts no. The w123 series also has a hydro strut made by Sachs and the hardware kit is readily available. I think this kit could work at least for the rubber pieces but there could be a slight diameter difference on the lower piece. I saw a set of rubber mounts for the Mustang that people were recommending for the 500SEL struts but there I have a feeling the diameter would be a bit too large.

Really peculiar. I have bought tons of shocks for many different vehicles, and even with the chepeast chinese shocks they include the rubber dampener bushings and new hardware. Have you tried calling the dealership? Sounds like one of those things that wouldn't be *too* expensive, compared with normal dealer parts.

Right the difference with these is that Sachs doesn't make the rubber bushings, whereas the other company's do and given the cost for these things you wouldn't want to pay the extra for them to make the bushings. Just waiting for a weekday to talk to my good MBZ parts guy connection but I'm not convinced the dealer's going to have the kit, typically dealers don't deal in kits like this would require. OES genuine is the company that makes the kits for the W123, MBZ OEM yes, but I haven't found a kit after exhaustive searching they make for either the w124 hydros (nor the 500SEL though it's different). I'll post what I find. But I'm anticipating it may have to be the W123 kit, the lower rubber bushing is the critical 1, the upper I'm sure could work.
