Yes you read it correctly, I have one and it is for sale - $350.00 + plus shipping.

What's the part number on it? (If you don't mind me asking)
|
I will look for it, but it is a genuine 300D

Good luck with the sale. |
Not a problem, the only number that I can provide is a casting number. If you are looking for a part number to order one, then I believe I have the part number somewhere in my notes - I will look later today.

What are you brewing up now, Army!?
|
Just curious. What makes the 300D flywheel so valuable?

The thinner "automatic" flywheels will probably sell for a couple of dollars - but due to rarity the thicker, heavier manual transmission flywheels go for quite a bit more. In Europe manual transmissions are more popular than automatics. I'm a rare breed - a European who prefers an automatic. I can't be bothered to change gear if technology can do it for me. |
You can put in a stick on a 617 with a 240d fw which weighs 28# or the proper 617 fw which weighs 38#. The heavier flywheel makes the combination shift much nicer and dampens the odd normally bouncing 617 idle. I have one of each and the one with the 617 fw idles as smoothly as a six cylinder engine.
