I replaced the rear shelf on my 81 300SD with one out of a newer W126 and these speakers no longer fit. I have slightly trimmed the plastic bracket around the speaker so that they fit the rear shelf with 4 screws per speaker cover perfectly. I can include the wire connector shown if you really need it, but would prefer to keep it.
