110 tail lights F/S
I think these came off a 1965 230, but they should fit any 110 but the very early ones, like the 1961 or 1962.
Please note that one of the frames seems to be missing a top piece of trim. This was like this when I removed them from the car about 15 years ago and I have been told that some were made like this. I find that a bit suspect; sort of like the dealer saying they all do that. But these did come off the same car which was around 30 years old at the time, so one of the lens could have been replaced with one from another car. There is nothing wrong with either lens, though, and the frames did polish up nicely. You could always remove the lens from the frames if your frames are in better shape. Check out the photos. The Hella part number is K22361. I cannot find a Benz number on them. Any comments on these would be welcome. I would be glad to answer any questions I can, but I really don't know that much about the 110. I am asking $100 each for these since the only new ones I could find were about $900 each and used ones seem to fetch $200 each. Shipping would be extra, and I would also recommend the purchase of additional insurance as these are made of plastic. Thanks! |

The single lense on the left is for a 220S or 230S. It's shown upside down and the extra piece sticking out of the bezel is where the chrome trim on the fail fin fits into the bezel.
The two in the center picture are for a 220 or 230. These cars didn't have as much trim on them and were not as nicely appointed. The two in the far right pictures are also for W110 cars but I'm not sure which ones. In all cases the plastic lense will not seperate from the bezel. It may be possible to remove the lense with a dremel but the plastic is melted on to the bezel to form a leak proof seal so it might not work that well. |

Well, these both came off of the same car so you are right on all counts. I thought a 230S was correct as I remember also taking a set of dual Solexs off of it. Two four bbls., that is.
I might try to take the lens from the chrome to see if it can be done in a safe way. Whatever results I get I will post on in the Vintage section and maybe I can help someone down the road. Thanks for commenting. There is no such thing as too much information on older Mercedes and their parts. |
