I have 2 hubcaps in nice condition. some light surface dirt or rust on the back, front side is nice no scratches, could use a new coat of paint.

Center Console Wood, Burl Type. if I recall Correctly this came from a 500E or 450E. not sure. Definatly higher end. Rest of the wood is...ehhhh. but the center console was good, some light cracks but nothing major

Looks like early hubcaps (68 - 70?). By 1971, they were made from stainless steel and didn't rust out from the back...

Your guess is as good as mine, They are pretty nice though considering how old they were and the condition of the car they came from.

Yeah, toughest thing to find is a set without curbing.

X2

Have you ever tried polishing out scratches?

Aquaticedge 06-06-2011 08:05 PM

i've not. these are pretty perfect if you know someone who needs two or one. I'm not sure if you can polish down scratches. may make the problem worse

You can sand/polish out scratches on stainless steel. You can't on chrome-plated steel.

A magnet will tell you if they're chrome plated or stainless; it'll stick to the former. Regardless, x2 on the non curbed or bent hubcaps. All used hubcaps pretty much need paint IMO.

You should be careful doing stuff like that.

Bad boys don't play nice.

Aquaticedge 07-02-2012 02:23 PM

No. but if it gets these caps gone, It might be worth it

Stretch 07-02-2012 03:15 PM

If it wasn't for the postage costs from the USA to Europe they'd be gone...

Aquaticedge 07-02-2012 03:41 PM

if you cover just the postage they can be yours....I'd like to see them gone to someone who'd use them
