I'm looking for a Mercedes advertisement that I saw in a trade magazine (possibly Motor Age or Motor) about 3 to 5 years ago.
There were 2 pictures in the ad. The top picture was an early Daimler car, below that picture was a picture of a horse hitched to a wagon. Above the top picture were words to this effect: "In 1885, Gottlib Daimlers first motorcar had only 2 horsepower".
Below the picture of the horse and wagon:"Of course, it was twice as much as the competition".
I always thought that was such a cute ad, I wish I had saved it.
Since this was in a trade magazine, it was probably not directed towards car buyers, but was related somehow to the parts marketing department. So far nothing positive to come from Mercedes in securing a copy of this ad.
Any collectors out there have anything? I have some old literature, especially technical literature, to swap.
I could be wrong about the source, there is a chance it was in Autoweek, in which case it was aimed towards car buyers.

Other items being offered for trade for this ad:
107 chassis pair of headlamp assemblies in great shape, take-offs from Euro headlamp conversion, this was obviously done early in the cars life (possibly pre-delivery as these are perfect).
208 chassis (CLK) Xenon headlamp assembly, minor imperfection to silver painted trim inside the lense, includes all bulbs incl. the Xenon bulb, and the ignition unit. The Xenon bulb and ignition unit I'm sure will work on other Xenon headlamp units. This could save you hundreds of dollars when your car is out of warranty. This is the left side lamp only.
This is your choice of either the pair of 107 headlamp assemblies, or the one 208 chassis Xenon lamp assembly.
If you are a tech school student or have a son or daughter in tech school, they may be able to locate this ad in the library, as often times tech schools subcribe to both of these publications.
