FS: w124 300e 5 speed transmission kit

5 Attachment(s)
Off an 87 300e grey market car. Was in drivable condition prior to it being parted out due to rust/ overall bad condition. Includes EVERYTHING you would need to convert your 300e autotragic in to a MUCH sportier, overall fun to drive car. Im still a bit on the fence whether I will put it in my 300e because it is a lot of work. The engine runs terribly rich, but otherwise runs great. No headgasket issues, or running hot. From what I read, the grey market m103 has a slightly higher compression ratio that the american equivilent.

I am located in Cleveland Ohio.

I am open to offers, so dont be shy.

Includes:
Engine, trans, shifter+ linkage, (needs shifter bushings) Brake/clutch pedal assembly, all the lines associated with the hydraulic clutch, driveshaft, as well as the brake booster/resivoir. Also, the wood trim, which has been painted black by the PO.

Everything is out of the car at this point, and ready to go. I will also throw in a new trans mount, (the rubber), and a new center carrier bearing.

You may sell faster if you offer the trans swap alone, without the engine. Include the clutch and flywheel and don't forget the cross member and exhaust mount, they are different from the auto. Don't trash the wood piece, its different also.

To whoever is considering this swap, do it!:D (unless you only drive in town). It completely transforms the car. 4th ratio is same as the auto box. Put it in 5th and its got legs. The swap is not difficult, just takes time. No cutting/welding/fabricating. Just intelligent grunt work as everything bolts in. I did my 300E a few years ago, still gets a grin when driving it.

The engine can stay, or go. It does not make any difference to me. It is of little value to me other than a bunch of spare parts.

Its kind of more like a bonus.

You should grab and include the driver's side underdash extension, the black plastic part that is moulded with a space for the clutch pedal. The fuel pump relay is also different on manual transmission cars, don't know how but it is.

Thanks for the tip. I forgot about the black plastic piece. I will throw that in the pile. As for the fp relay, im not sure how that could be different, but ill throw that in to just for good measure.

the cross member is still attached to the trans. AFAIK, the exhaust mount is the same. I could be wrong. Unfortunately, I trashed the exhaust system a while back.......

The diff is already installed on my 300e. Its nothing special. If I remember, it was a 3.0something diff. Stock on my 300e is like 3.27.

I appreciate all the inquiries, but I do not think im going to get any real money for this trans.

With my reverse gear starting to slip on my auto, It would be silly for me to sell my 5 speed for less than what a unknown used auto tranny would cost.

I'm better off leaving it sit in my garage until my autotragic kicks it.

I'll have to do some research,

but I'd like to see if it will bolt up to my w124 '95 E300 Diesel.

Just had a mishap on the ice, and will also need the passenger side lower control arm, if its the same.

Hoping you may reconsider keeping it.. especially with a '95 auto thrown in on the deal plus cash.
Contact me off line with what you want.

Many thanks,
Mark
