WTB W123 shift rods
Looking for the three shift rods for the old style 2 piece cast iron transmission. Would buy them from a 240D, but would prefer them from and old 300D with the four speed cast iron transmission.

Bugger I've just got back from a wasted junk yard wild goose chase over here - I wish I'd known earlier. I think everything I saw was petrol so you probably didn't miss out. Anyway I'll keep an eye out for you...

Hi Army; That is so kind of you. I even though of sending you a note to see how much new ones would be on say a 77,78 or 79 Euro 300D with a four speed. I would think they would weigh about one pound each at the most, but still I think the dealer would want an arm or a leg for them. Do the dealers in Netherlands require a serial number for every part you order. They do here, (pretty much anyway), and these parts guys act like they are working in a morgue or at least the Federal Money Printing Office. They have no humor! Jim

However, I've bought so much stuff I got given a key ring - it was a great occasion - that ended up with the wife saying something along the lines of "you silly bugger if ever you needed proof you're over spending on this project"... ...anyway if you've got some part numbers I'm sure I can skip past the VIN problem. You can often get dealer prices by looking at mbspecialist <= I hope it is OK to post this as I don't consider their prices to be in competition with this site!
