WTB: W-123 Front Passenger Door Latch Assy

Good Evening all;

Could no longer unlock the passenger-side front door on my '85 300TD using the key. Cylinder turned freely, but it did not unlock.

Removed the door panel, and I can see that the plastic 'cam' which is driven by the actuating rod connected to the lock cylinder is broken, and the portion which engages the locking linkage was laying in the bottom of the door.

Does anyone have a right front door inner latch assembly they'd be willing to part with? Don't need the outside handle or anything else... just the 'guts' from inside the door.

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Did anyone happen to experience a door not shutting properly? I have been dealing with this for some time and now the door wont make the second catch.

Perhaps I need to replace the latch assembly, but when actuating it manually with the door open, I am able to get the second catch.

What to do?

Check the door alignment - check the condition of the door seals see if they or something else is getting in the way - may be a door retainer related problem (though I'd expect those to just fall apart rather than restrict movement!)
