WTB: OM615 Exhaust Manifold

I don't know if a 240D (OM616) one will fit or not...but that could possibly work.

Mine has a repaired spot that is leaking - when I start the car smoke comes out of it. It is some sort of brass-colored material used to patch it but I figure it's better to just replace the whole manifold since it's been repaired in the past and is leaking again.

I definately have the 616 and may have a 615 exhaust manifold. I will take a look around the garage. IIRC they are different.

I took some pictures of the actual part I need to replace, maybe I'm calling it the wrong thing. It has the gold-colored solder patch below the round silver thing with the black hose coming in to it in the first picture, and is the rusty part below the upper manifold that supports the air filter housing (compare rusty part to black part in last picture where the air filter housing has been removed).

Please help identify and tell me if you have one available! Car is a 1983 200D.

It looks to be the same configuration as the 123 240d manifold, I don't know but I would be very surprised if the two forty d manifold won't work.

Does your 240D manifold have that section where the patch is on mine? Another forum member showed me a 240D manifold he had for sale (picture attached), but I do not see any attachment on the front of it like mine has.

What is the thing on mine anyways? Is it some non-factory hackjob that I should remove?

A different member showed me pictures of a manifold from a 1970 220D, but it has the exhaust in the center rather than the back, so that appears to be a different design entirely, though it does have a 615 P/N.

Looks like some early version of an EGR. A similiar one was on my NA 300D, but then I found an un-altered manifold at the PNP from your green interior donor! (thanks for the incentive to strip that car again! )

I will post more photos soon of a good 240D manifold that I can easily bring up to you
(actually it traveled with me last trip to Ithaca, but the buyer decided he didn't need the spare in the end = a very well traveled but low miles manifold

PM sent too

Did you discover the purpose of this port?

Pics attached.

Excuse the bit of oil spilled on it from a spare filter housing.

The last pic looks like a similar part to the unknown one on your manifold that is weak. It is tapped into the middle of the exhaust portion.

Not sure what I have here? The top section is unfamiliar.
Can anyone help clarify what we are looking at; thought it was a standard 240D OM616 manifold...

It doesn't look the same as mine at all... I'll have to take some more pictures of mine this weekend. I'd really like to ditch the EGR, though.

It looks the same as a 616 123 manifold except for the crossover pipe on the center, right? Maybe an earlier 123 manifold will not have that. I will look and see if I have any like that.

I have one that looks just like this picture. I will let it go for a reasonable price.

I'm going to take some more thorough pictures this weekend and look for a P/N. I have another possible lead, but if you could post some of what you've got though I'd like to compare quality and verify that it looks compatible. Does the one you have have an EGR or not?

No egr. I will look at it and verify that it is not cracked or warped. I won't sell anything that is not a good part.

I ran across another early manifold so I have two to choose from now. I'll take pics if you feel the need.

Please do. The one closer didn't work out so you're top on my list now. I'm hoping to get more pictures of mine tonight or tomorrow.
