you can contact allenjdmb from this board, I understand that he has (2) complete sets of OEM MB 500e wheels for sale 16x8.

as you know,...these 500e wheels are gems! OEM MB 500e wheels are forged light alloy wheels (vs. cast alloy)

Thanks -fad - I did see allenjdmb's message, but in subsequent posts realized the wheels are too wide for the regular fender flares of other W124's

I need to find out how wide I can go with the regular W124 body.

...you can go 7.5" wide on regular W124 (16x7.5 or 17x7.5)

(original post re: 500e/e500 wheels are 16x8 OEM MB stock can use modification.)

you should be able to do 8" wheels. the offset is critical though.

I know hi-power has 17x8 Brabus wheels on his 300e.

Saliya 400e I believe has 17x8.25 on his 400e.

Personally I would not go any more than a 7.5" wide rim with an offset of 37 or 35. at an ofset of 35, you will be as far out as you would want to go without them sticking out.

Yeah, I definitely don't want to be overhanging (underhanging?) the wheel-wells, I also won't go the spacer route to get the offsets to work. 7-7.5 is all the wider I think I want. The search continues...

It's just a matter of the right offset. Stick with the TUV approved German/austrian brands, even the better Japanese brands, and you'll have no problems.
