WTB W126 Diesel tachometer 6 Cylinder 350SD
Does anyone have a good working tachometer that they would like to sell?
Does anyone know if the tachometer from a 5 cylinder can be modified to work? Thanks!

I would think any 85+ 126 tach would do. So a subset of the 5 cylinder tachs.

According to Mercedes EPC, the tach for that vehicle (003 542 87 16) only fits the 90-91 350SD and 350SDL. A tach from a 84-85 300SD or from a 86-87 300SDL would bolt up and plug in but would not be accurate.

Check this link. One of the stuff being sold is a 126 tach (not sure if off a gasser or diesel thou)

Check the fuses in your OVP before you decide your tach is bad.

Been there, replaced that lol. Replacing the fuse made the ABS light go out but the engine was still idling terrible and the a/c wouldn't come on. Subsequent removal and reinstallation of the OVP cured those two problems. I also now have a voltage signal at the underhood test connection and at the tachometer connection so it's definitely the tach.
