Anyone interested in an OM617 turbo with 200,000 and good compression?
 

I may be putting my hands on one soon, and am trying to see whether I pull the motor to sell it or just junk it with the rest of the vehicle.

*EDIT* I've actually received a PM and so on. I don't have the motor yet -- if I get it, I'll post something in "Parts for Sale" (after contacting people who have already responded).

Almost but not quite there.. I am in the same boat.. Have a greart drivetrain in my SD but the body is almost gone... Yet still looks good.. LOL..

I have a 300SD with a solid body, good engine but bad trans....located in central CT if you have a good trans if you have the time to put into replacing it... just sayin' ;)

I'll keep it in mind when I do my tranny swap, but I wouldn't count on it. When you're married, you have SWMBO; when you're a kid, you have TWMBO (they who must be obeyed) :)

No worries! Just throwing it out there if interested. Its a good project if anything, certainly a good roadworthy car for the DIYer. I don't have such things to worry about yet :)

^ my for sale thread. I haven't done a compression test on my engine but it has always started even down below 0*F with no block heater which is pretty remarkable. Take it as you wish, shameless promotion at this point I guess, otherwise good luck with the sale!
