I had one seized OM617 (5 cylinder diesel) engine and transmission that I am parting out. I did find debris in the oil pan. I plan on cleaning the contents for further diagnosis information.

What version of the 617? What year car? was the tranny shifting as designed and did it leak? how many miles on the car?

Well....it was a turbo engine. I don't know the year nor miles of the car because I didn't get the car, just the seized engine and transmission. I have to believe the car was running/moving. The debris in the oil pan would lead me to believe the engine came out of the car because of the seized engine.

If it helps, I can look on the transmission for some numbers. I can also post pics of any parts that interest you.
