Hello, I need a torque converter with bolts for a turbo diesel. I'm in Chicago

If you must know, my engine ran out of oil and I can"t turn it to get to the bolts. I don't have the time right now to split the broken engine to turn the crank.

PS inexpensive and near by is good.

I bet if you pulled pan, loosened up the main bearing caps, and maybe the rod caps you could turn it possibly.
I once bought a car with a bad engine and thats how I got it broke apart.
But if you dont have the time.
Ive got a torque converter, but shipping might be high from SC.

Sounds like the best thing to do.

A rebuilt is about $130. Check Chicago for rebuilts, no shipping but + tax.

Please note - if you have a 722.3 transmission then you need a different torque converter than the one that goes in the 722.1 transmission.

If your OM617 came out of a W116 then the chances are that you have a 722.1 - if it came out of a W123 or a W126 then the chances are you need the 722.3 - but even with this information it is worth finding out to which transmission you will be fitting this torque converter...

...there are several part number changes for torque converters and I'm not 100% sure what the differences in real terms mean (possibly different design stall speeds?).
