WTB - WTT - Looking for a running complete OM603 3.0L
I need to replace another 3.5L. This time, in a W140. So, I need a running complete donor 3.0L engine. I have one left, but I'm not sure of the condition and it's not complete. I need to install an injector pump, and turbo. I would rather buy a complete engine assembly that's know to run. If I have to, I could buy a rust bucket of a car, and one that's in terrible shape other than the engine in order to get a good unit.
If I cant find anything in my price range, I'll have to reassemble the one I have. Thanks in advance guys. Also, I have PILES of stuff to trade. A whole retail store of musical instruments, loads of car and truck parts. Brand New USA Made truck toolboxes. |

Thanks!!! I'll check them out.

None of those panned out. I have a slight possibility on a line on a 3.0L. He may have the whole car sold before I can get there to remove the engine. But, 300-500 for the complete assembly, and it's still running in the car to test it out. I hope I can get it. Please keep me updated if any of you run across one as I doubt it will be available past the next few days.
Thanks! |
Here's the car I need it for. I will need to swap a few things around going from a W126 to a W140. But, the car is in amazing shape. If I don't find an engine reasonably, or can trade for one, the car will be posted here eventually for sale complete as-is. It either has a cracked head, or bad head gasket. Much rather install a 3.0L as I've done with a few other 350SDL's.
Anyway, thanks again! W140 - OM603-3.5L |
I've got a lead on a 3.0L engine. Will you let you know.

I wish I could leave work and just pull the engine out of the running car for what he wants for it ($300-500 depending on what else I take...trans..etc) but my schedule simply wont allow just heading up there. Maybe I need a case of that "flu" that's going around to call in sick... LOL Too much to do at work right now to get time off. Oh well. Thanks to everyone who has their ears to the tracks for me. |

I tried running Blue Devil through the car to see if I could limp along the 3.5L long enough to get a sense of how the rest of the car would play out, since it's been sitting for a few years. But, to no avail. I'm not getting steam out the exhaust, but the exhaust pressure into the cooling system was so much it cracked a radiator!! So, I bought a new radiator since I had to anyway regardless of the engine that ends up in there, and installed a 7 Lb. cap to keep the new radiator from compromising. But, the blue devil just couldn't stop this leak. Hate to sell it broken, it's in very nice shape. I realize the W140 is complicated, but I think I'd like to drive it awhile and see how it compares to the W126's I've owned. Cant wait to get time to do yet another 3.5L to 3.0L swap!! |
