Ignition Lock Cylinder or ??? ('85 300D)
The key needs a lot of jiggling to turn, but once past the "off" detent, goes back and forth fine.
Took out the old lock cyl, and started to put in a new one, still difficult. THE ODD THING IS, that the switch turns freely with a needle nose pliers (one "needle" in each of the holes) and both the new and the old lock cylinder turn OK too. It's just that the two together don't turn off the zero mark well. There is a litttle tab thing sticking up from a slot in the receptacle where the lock cylinder goes. Could something be wrong with that??? Baffled in Lake Worth. |
