Wanted: 300D - '93 NEEDS Engine ideas
 

Looking at a '93 300 D . Body & mechanicals supposedly in excellent condition for the year. Timing chain broke after 292,000 & want to know suggestions for an engine swap.

FWIW : We are in the South Florida area if this is a plus for someone nearby.
any suggestions if other years/ models would be an upgrade idea are appreciated....

I've always wanted to swap in the 3.5L 6cyl into one of those and make a 300D 3.5Turbodiesel. You could do it with all factory parts and even have it look the part.

TheDon (think Pillsbury Doughboy) is selling an OM606 in Florida. You might want to try reaching him through the forum.

Yea, do a search for TheDon. The engine he has should work fine for that application. You will need to incorporate an intercooler though.

I've got a 606 for sale. It's sort of an almost bolt in affair

I even have a V8 sway bar so you don't have to swap pans and oil pump pickups.
