1986 Mercedes 300 SDL alternator?
 

Any body got an alternator for a 1986 300 SDL? I need to replace mine.

I don't have one any longer, but if you go to the bone yard, you can get one from any later S class ( S420, etc) and it should bolt in. Do a search here on alternator swaps and you will find a bunch of good info. You will want a 143 Amp for a replacement.

Thanks for the info because I am heading to my local bone yard in the morning. Its cheaper than a new one. I already have a spare new regulator. I tried it first on my unit but it didn't remedy my problem.
