My keyless remote will work with your car if you can lock/unlock your car using key from d/door, p/door and trunk. Stock is limited so let me know.

Unless you install an actuator on the driver's side door. No. I don't believe it will. ah-kay's kit would work on the second gen 126's though.

The first generation 126 did not have a vaccuum actuator on the driver's side door. Any keyless system installation would have to include an actuator for that door. If you do that then you would wire the keyless to that actuator rather than to the vacuum pump. That what I had to do on our 300SD's

I think I made it very clear in my post. If you can lock/unlock car door from d/door, p/door and trunk then this unit will work. Locking from p/door and trunk verifies there is an actuator inside the driver door.

Very interested in this item. I hope it is within my ability to install (perhaps seeing the instructions would help me to determine that).

The '85 SD can also be opened from the p/door and trunk whereas the '83 can only be opened from the d/door. Do you plan to also make this device available for the latter older system?

It is difficult to do it for older W126 as you need to add an actuator at the driver door and use a different configuration for the control unit. It is doable but need to have ABOVE average DIY skill. I did it for my 83 300D and 84 190D but it is a lot of work. PM me and I will send you the instructions. I send instructions to every buyer to make sure they know what they are in for before paying. I just sold my last one. If you are interested then I will order more. The lead time is about 3 weeks as I need to modify each one.
