Free 280ce (123) to a good home (UK)

I have a '78 w123 series 280ce which is free to anyone who wants it. The car is 90% complete and would drive if you could bring a radiator and wheels. It has four Mb alloys which I don't want to give away, but could lend if you left a deposit. It would make a useful parts car as it has three working electric windows, good (coupe) doors, front wings, mechanical parts etc. Also, although very dirty the interior is, with the exception of the carpets in good condition. If you did get the car back on the road, the personal number plate is valued between £500-£700. I'm hoping to get some pictures tomorrow.

It needs to go by thursday...

280CE

Hi Paul,

I've emailed you but thought I'd leave a reply here aswell. I'd be interested in picking up the 280 and can do this on Sat as I'm working untill Fri. I have a radiator from an auto 230te and I think that this should fit but I could take the rad out of my 280ce/114 but as far as I can see they look the same. I can also pick up the alloy wheels and drop your ones off. Let me know if this would be ok as I would need to arrange this with my brother to drive one of the cars back. It would also be good to see how the 280CE/114 is coming along aswell.

Regards,

Vick

That should be ok, I'll make some calls. The 114's doing ok, but I'm in a mad rush to get everything sorted by Thursday night. I'm leaving for Germany early Friday morning and taking the 114 back to its home. I used the radiator for the 114, although the mountings are very slightly different, the actual radiator's the same as long as it's for an auto. I'm not sure about the 230 rad, so If you can, I would bring both.
