Hi Rick - I'll try and communicate this way as it might help others with a similar question about your product.

I have a European specification W201 => a 201.018 chassis - year 1992 with an eight pin connector.

I watched your video but was wondering how us children of a lesser god with 8 pin connectors have to sort out the power from plug 16 which doesn't exist on the 8 pin socket version - I assume you just crocodile clip straight from the battery. Is that right?

Does your documentation include the 201.018 chassis?

Sorry for the delay, I didn't have my email notifications on. The 8 pin does not provide power. You must connect the red end of my tester to the positive battery. Thanks, Rick

Yes. I can ship this morning if you like. The ebay checkout calculates shipping, usually between $11 and $13.

Sincerely,
Rick Potter

I have a 1988 300 TE. Is there a code port on this car?

Yes. Your 124 bodystyle should have a 16 port diagnostic port. Look by the battery, its probably got a plastic cap on it. My video on my web page details code reading and the 16 port location. Your car is very similar to my 1993 300e, with respect to code reading.

Let me know if you have other questions. Rick

Can someone help me with this question? I also have 201.018 and I wonder how to read blink code for this particular model. Is it any different from US models like 201.029, 201.028?
