Exclamation WTB: ONE W126 CHROMED Wheel (lug nut) Cover

Need one of the chromed MB lug nut covers (not the smaller center cap) for a W126, has the MB Star (some are in GOLD!), screws into a metal plug. This is an older design & can't for the life of me figure out how this one disappeared from the passenger side rear wheel (no scratches, curb damage, etc.) and the Mrs. assures me she didn't hit any giant pothole or anything like that...

Just need one, please check out all those old spare chromed wheels you have sitting around, please.

THANKS!

Pic needed

From your description, the wheels you are talking about are aftermarket. None of the factory wheels came with lug nut covers, but such things were sold as accessories -- but are pretty rare.

People will need to see a pic to know what you need.

Well, thanks to DieselPaul I can provide a little more info...

He very graciously pointed me to an eBay Auction #251466210581 which had two of exactly the covers I was looking for! Unfortunately...

The Auction ended about 10 minutes (that's 600 SECONDS!) before I reached to site!

It does include pictures of these covers which are described as 6 1/2" chromed covers for a 560SL and may have actually been a factory application: I always thought they were aftermarket because I remember seeing them in sets in the PerformanceParts MB catalog and maybe even in ADSITCO's, way back when.

Thanks, again to DieselPaul, and hopefully someone has one of these sitting around.

Cheers!

p.s. When I got to the EBay site (they were "already gone", to paraphrase the Eagles) I realized I could neither BID nor BUY because I don't have an eBay account nor PayPal, and that I couldn't even send the seller a message for the same reason! I guess some things are just not meant to happen?

The auction is for a center cap - not lug bolt cover. I am confused from you 1st post of what you need.

Lightbulb Please excuse my naivete...

Sorry: not the individual lugbolt chromed hexoganal covers (5 per wheel) and not the 3" center cap. The Chromed 6 1/2" wheel cover that also happens to cover all 5 lugnuts in their respective holes.

Just like the ones in the pictures.

Thanks!

p.s. per DieselPaul these were aftermarket.

p.p.s. I also have plenty of W126 parts if a trade/swap might be considered. I could pull all the wheels and just use my spare chromed 3" center caps, but it kind'a seems a waste of the three 6 1/2" ones that are in place (and also an extra bit of work, too!).

Just trying to clarify for folks... what you are describing is very rare, I happen to have seen it on a couple of w126s a looooong time ago.
