I want to replace the 14" wheels on a 1971 R107 350SL with the original 15" wheels.

The car is a European R107, 1971 350SL...here that car was badged as a 450SL. It had both 14" and 15" wheels. I'd like a set of original wheels for the 71...either 450sl or 350sl. But if the 86 -89 15" wheels will fit then I'm interested in them too.

Although in the US we tend to think of 107s as having been supplied with 14" bundt aluminum wheels, they were also equipped with 14" and 15" steel wheels. Your posts do not specify, but is it the case that you are speaking of steel wheels? If so, 15" steel wheels and their covers are quite scarce in the US. The 15" wheels from '86 onwards (mentioned by Sixto) as delivered in the US are aluminum, and are plentiful. Your location will determine the shipping costs; you might mention where you are.

I have never heard of any 107 prior to 1986 being factory equipped with 15" wheels in steel or alloy. The 15" Fuchs made bundt style were still available from the Classic Center last I heard. They may have been fitted as a special or order item though. This article seems to say so.

They would be shipped to Canada..Toronto. But I can also pick them up in upstate NY..14092. The bundt alloy in 15" from a later model would br fine as long as they fit.

Up to 07/1985 all 107s were available with 6.5x14 (steel or alloy) wheels only.
From 08/1985 all 107s were available with 7x15 (alloy) wheels only.

And later (after 09/1985), from factory were available 7x15 bundt alloys (p/n 126 400 22 02) for 09/1985 - 04/1986 126.034/035/036/037 armored versions only.
And this wheels was available for retrofitting pre-08-09/1985 models of the 107/126 only.

The pre-09/1985 15" steel wheels were available only for 114/115/123 with increased loading capacity or only for versions for bad road conditions.

Thanks doc...so if I'm reading this correctly PN 126 400 22 02 is a 7x15 wheel that will fit the pre 08/85 W107 car....like the early 70's W107?

The W100 also rolled on 15" wheels.

86-89 wheels that need refinishing are practically given away. $200 will get you a decent set. 15" bundts go for $1200, maybe half that if they need refinishing.

Yes. The originals are made by Fuchs and are a forged alloy wheel. They are lighter weight than the after market copies which are cast alloy wheels.

The 126 400 30 02 and 126 400 34 02 are the commonly available 86-onwards 7x15 wheels. These are usually referred to as "flat" wheels; they are not Bundt style wheels. They were the standard USA wheel for 107s and 126s.

Yes 7Jx15H ET 25 same size as the '86 up but they won't clear the bigger front brake calipers on the '86 up 107.

I meant the W100 wheels must be pretty wide given the 9.00 x 15 tire spec, maybe 7.5" or 8" wide. I don't think LWB 114/5s or 123s has 7" wide wheels. Plus it's easier to find W100s being parted in the US than LWB 114/5s or 123s
