93 w201 190E 2.6 Brake Booster and Turn Signals

I have the stock Brake Booster, which I switched out for an E500s. Was told they are bigger, but didn't really notice any difference. I guess it was the brake flush that helped the most. Anyway, for sale if you need pics let me know, best offer.

And I got Turn Signals, the amber ones. Best offer, if you have cracked ones, these are in great shape.

Thats a bummer and your right, they are not any bigger, as the 2.6 has the same cylinder as the 124. If you had the 2.3l motor than it would of been a proper upgrade.

You know I was told both, that all w124s had the same master cylinder and brake booster, and then was told differently about the E500 because its brake setup came of the SLs. So I bought into the SL part and had hoped it was bigger :p .

Is this just the booster, or are you selling the master cylinder w/ also? Also, ballpark, where are you looking for price?

Thanx

Nope, its just the Master Cylinder. Now I was thinking a new one is about $125, so I was thinking $85. It is used, so maybe $75. Whatever offer I do get, thats best offer basically, cause it does me no good to install it.

Charlie.

I'd be comfortable w/ $75 (have to think about s/h). Now, I know I will have to uprate the resevoir, but would the booster itself also need to be uprated as well?

Can you find out how much it would be to ship, and then you can email me on where to send the M/O

Well Being Honest, I was looking on ebay, and I saw a new Brake Booster. It didn't come out of the 2.6 (which is the w124 setup I've been told) but it is brand new for $85, So since mine has been used, I actually would proabaly feel comfortable with $65. I know how rediculous it sounds that I'm driving my own price down, but in all fairness, I think thats probably the more realistic price since I saw that other booster going on ebay brand new.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1823009583&r=0&t=0

Thats the link, give me your zip code, I'll figure out S&H.

Thanks Charlie.

Zip is 54773. It's your money, but it is always nice finding someone to be honest

You still wouldn't happen to know if I would require replacing the booster itself on this upgrade for my car? It will eventually be used for doing a 500E/SL brake conversion...Still looking into it, so I don't know what I would be putting on the rear.

Thanx alot

This is the brake booster itself, I don't have the Master Cylinder. I'm using 93 400E brakes up front, and 95 SL 600 Brakes in the rear. I can tell you I felt no difference in the 2 boosters compared to the 94 E500 booster. I think what really made the difference is the Stianless Steel Brake lines and a good brake flush and no air in the lines.

I would think the booster is fine, you might want to check up about the master cylinder. Most of the w124 cars I believe use the same booster as this one, and the 4 cylinder models use something a little smaller.

I think the 500E front brakes required a little too much work, with changing the spindle and the hub. I think its almost overkill too unless you plan to autocross for 24 hours straight. I say try the 95 E420 calipers up front, and 95 SL 600 in the rear, don't think you will be dissapointed. Then again, once you put the brakes on, you really don't want to take them off.

Keep in mind, that the extra weight in the suspension does effect your handling. I balanced out the tendency for the rear to swing out a little on hard turns with this setup, so I'm pretty satisfied. I think if you have a 4 cylinder a booster and master cylinder change is in order, but the 6 cylinder cars are fine.

Thats what I gathered. Charlie.

PS Thanks about the honesty comment, now and days it matters still I think.

Not to seem rude, but what is it exactly you are selling? Because previouslly you said it was just the master cylinder, now you say it's the booster.

I will purchase in any case 'cause I will eventually need both -I have 2.3-8v.

As far as 500E brakes and the weight on handling:
Changing the spindles/hubs I don't have a problem w/ -I wanna be a little nuts and experimental As, far as the weight; this is part of my reasoning for wanting the 500E calipers(I want the aluminum ones).

Of course that now said, people are probably thinking I'm a little off. One: for wanting to do the 500E->190E brake conversion, and two: for wanting the 'problematic' aluminum calipers. But for me, this car is sorta a testbed for things I want to do.

BTW, you would not happen to have a clue on the actual weight per caliper for the 400E and for the aluminum 500E?

Once you clear this up for me(what you're selling) and quote me for s/h we can figure out payment/shipping arrangements.

Thanx again.

I meant to say no its not with the master cylinder, I scrolled up the posts and I just saw that and well.....your right I said

Nope, its just the Master Cylinder......When I meant nope its jus the Brake Booster.

I guess I thought to fast for my fingures. Any how its alwasy beent he Brake booster I am selling, not the master cylinder becasue I am using the stock cylinder.

Now In eight I really don't remember which ones weighed how much, but the thin you have to remember is to clear the 500E calipers, you must have a wheel with a pretty low offset, but not one thats too low that will rub. 500E had wheels with really low offsets like the SLs, one due to the fender flaring but 2 also to clear the brakes. So Keep that in mind, cause I've heard people complain about alot of trial and error with their wheels. Some 16x7 will fit fine while 16x7.5s or 17x8s wont, wheel designs end up mattering here.

Good Luck though, cause those brakes would probbly be killer

Thanx for the clarification. Don't fell bad, I know how it gets when the typing doesn't match your thinking.

I have kept in mind about the wheel clearance; I want to go 16x8 polished 8-holes

As far as fender flare clearances, I am replaceing the fenders themselves and might do a 16-valve fender that will be flared -don't know if this is different- OR the possibility remains of molding a composite fender -this is another trade that I am learning and plan to make custom bumpers and possibly undertray for the car

The rear flares, I have to replace rear quarters anyway(rust) and will most likly do some fabrication

I guess it is just turning into 'creating a widebody kit'

It's an ambitious project, but one I hope to enjoy and learn alot. I have some 'design tools' that should help with some of the work also: AutoCAD and Photoshop -I have to learn AutoCAD, though -I enjoy learning/doing lots of things.

But anyways, my email is tech2@triwest.net and you can email me with shipping cost (Zip: 54773, I can add the agreed upon parts price of $65) and addy to send payment.
