WTB: w123 front seat rail attachment point nut retainers

"Nut retainer" is the Mercedes term. Around here we call them speednuts. They the clips that contain the nut your seat mounting bolts, bolt into.

The nuts split off the retainer clips when I went to pull my front seat and I had to grind the nut heads off.

I need two of these, to do the front mounts of a front seat. Bonus if you have the bolts too.

Not sure what I am talking about? They are #86 in this diagram:

SEAT ADJUSTMENT W/HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT, FROM MODEL YEAR 9/79. Fits: 1980 Mercedes 300 TD Wagon | Mercedes-Benz of South Atlanta

I am in Canada.

You could "just" weld or epoxy a M8 (is it?) nut to the place where the captive nut should be...

...or go and buy a captive nut assembly from a hardware store if you're not keen on a visit to the dealer armed with a print out of the picture in the link you posted.

JB weld or maybe quick-set metal putty might work I suppose. Did not consider that. I had thought of welding but my skills are, eh, a bit under-developed in that department.

There is no quick or painless visit to the dealer, two hour round trip and they are about $25 each apparently.... One of those Mercedes part-price anomalies that make you go HUH?

Thanks for the replies

I think I have one local and the other I will cobble together with hardware store parts and some JB metal stick. A set of helper hands just freed up for Saturday to help reinstall the seat, so I don't want to put it off....

If not successful, will get back to Hogweed.
