OM616 for sale in Delaware

I'm selling the complete engine from my now departed parts car. Its an 83 with 238k miles. It was running well when removed but it may have been run on liquified raccoons or other biofuels. Its currently on a nice Harbor Freight stand which I am willing to sell as well if its needed. $250 OBO and local pickup in Newark, DE only. I have no way to ship this. I need this gone ASAP to clear up garage space.

Sure wish I had a way to pick it up. I'd be very interested in it. If anybody was traveling through your area, traveling south, I could help them with some gas money.

I would really love to have it. But geography is against us. Hope it goes to a good home.

Geography and $$ are on my side, but time is against me until the second week of May...

If you really want it I don't mind holding onto it until then. I do need the engine stand its on at some point but I'm not in any huge rush plus I broke my toe last week so any dismantling of the car that I will need the stand for is on hold for a few weeks.

Aww. snap, sorry to hear about the toe. Hope it heals fast...

I'll get back to you on the engine. I need to talk with my parents -- I'm totally fine with the idea of driving a 1000-mile roundtrip, but my dad might want to come along, and then I'd have to see if ti works with his schedule. I theoretically could just take my car and make the trip myself, but I want to try to respect their wishes and also would rather keep 35-year-old diesel engines out of the Buick... .

I'll PM you.

I guess someone's been stepping on his toes recently...

Reason I'm interested is that I have most of the parts needed to turbo an OM617. Unfortunately, the initial impression from my dad was not positive...

Engine in the white car is awesome. I just can't leave well enough alone .

Oh, and on the white car, the tranny I installed won't work and I can't figure out why... I'm toying with the idea of just swapping in a manual this summer instead of wasting my time with the automatic. We'll see. At this point, I've worked out 90% of the bugs that I think need to be worked out for me to fit a Toyota 5-speed in there.
